Mono Morning My intentions for this shot wasn't for sunrise. In fact I really wanted to capture the Milky Way for this location. The morning of this pic, I came to this spot 3 times. I couldn't see any stars all 3 times and it really made me wonder if I was going to get what I came for. The day before, I made sure to check all my apps to make sure it was going to be clear and to know the best time to get the core of the Milky Way. Not one said overcast! But it definitely was and again I got skunked on yet another Pic. I was planning on heading to a nearby lake to get a sunrise shot instead of sticking around this place. I thought, at least I could salvage the 8 hour drive by getting a good capture somewhere else! I starting to leave when something kept me there. I don't know what it was? Maybe, it was the exhaustion of the trip, or intuition or just plain being hungry? But, I stayed. And it was an unbelievable moment! I will never forget the warmth of the sun on my face that morning, and oh the colors that rocked the heavens. It truly was a one of a kind "Mono Morning"! I'm proud to say, that this shot took Bronze in the Epson International Pano Awards.
